Mid-West Fire/Police Games Announced

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the first Midwest Police and Fire Summer Games, to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Games will be held from July 28th thru August 2nd, 1996. The Games are open to all Certified Law Enforcement Officers, Correctional Officers, Federal and State Law Enforcement Officers, Full-time Firefighters, Volunteer Firefighters in good standing, and full-time civilian employees of those departments. The Games are open to any one in those categories from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

The Games are for Cops and Firefighters, run by Cops and Firefighters. It is a great opportunity to meet and compete against your peers. And while you're at it, you'll be able to visit a great city and have a wonderful time in Milwaukee!

There will be a total of 28 events. They are: Angling, Basketball (3 on 3), Bench Press, Bowling, Bucket Brigade, Cross Country (10k), Cycling (10 and 25 mile), Mountain Bike, Fire Attack, Football, Golf, Handball, Pistol, Police Service Dogs, Power Lifting, Racquetball, Rifle (Large and Small Bore), Road Race, Running (5k and 10k), Rowing, Softball (Mens, Womens, and Coed), Swimming, Table Tennis, Toughest Competitor Alive, Track (100m, 200m, 400m and 400m relay), Trap, and Volleyball.

The Games are endorsed by Chief August Erdmann, Milwaukee Fire Department, Chief Phillip Arreola, Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee County Sheriff Robert Kliesmet, Milwaukee Professional Firefighters Association, Local 215, Milwaukee Fire Department Chief's Association, Milwaukee County Fire Chief's Association, Milwaukee Professional Police Association, Milwaukee Police Supervisors Association, Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff's Association, Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff's Supervisors Association, as well as local politicians and area businesses.
